Toast is growing in India! We are building a captive Finance shared services team specifically within the Accounting and Tax departments. As a local Finance shared services team leader youll report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer and collaborate closely with the CAO leadership team to enable their strategies and partner on building a highperforming accounting and tax team in India. This is a dynamic role that will be foundational in the creation of our accounting and overall finance shared services strategy and in providing inspirational leadership and career development opportunities for our team.
About this roll* (Responsibilities)
- Seasoned director that has experience in building highperforming teams in India scaling the accounting organization and partnering closely with the USbased functional leaders.
- Dynamic leader with strong accounting operations compliance people management and transformation experience.
- Collaborate with global finance leaders in India to align on shared servicesspecific and other broader strategies and use local knowledge and experience to influence direction.
- Partner with global finance leaders to support Toasts strategy to build a center of excellence in India and enable the accounting organization to scale in the region.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits tax authorities and regulatory bodies.
- Drive operational excellence by supporting the US functional leaders in streamlining processes and adopting automation.
- Support the USbased functional leaders in establishing a culture of accountability and performance excellence by identifying areas for improvement and the root causes of inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with global finance leaders and with Toasts local Talent Acquisition team to attract and retain the outstanding talent needed to fulfill Toasts business plans in India.
- Collaborate with the local People team to bring Toasts global talent programs to life for Finance employees in India ensuring that employees can have a long and fulfilling career path at Toast. Ensure appropriate training and development opportunities are available.
- Provide inspiring leadership to the Accounting and Tax teams in India connecting them to the broader global Finance team and Toasts mission.
- As a member of the Toast India leadership team collaborate with other members of the leadership team on important matters impacting the companys teammates and operations in India.
Do you have the right ingredients* (Requirements)
- CPA (or equivalent) with 15 years of Finance leadership experience including shared services experience with a multinational company or GICs
- 8 of experience leading and managing people managers
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire crossfunctional teams.
- Experience in building and scaling shared service centers or finance hubs in India.
- Indepth knowledge of US GAAP Indian GAAP SOX compliance and local tax laws.
- Bachelors degree in Finance/Accounting.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as Netsuite and various billing systems such as Zuora & Salesforce.
- Demonstrated strength in partnering with global leaders to develop strategies and plans that meet business needs.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills including across cultures.
- Flexibility to work across time zones to enable collaboration across international teams working US time zones.
