SkyMark Refuelers is accepting resumes for the position of Assistant Buyer at its South Kansas City facility. This position will report to the Procurement Manager. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES - Analyze material requirements and place purchase orders to approved vendors.
- Notify production and procurement manager of material shortages which may impact customer deliveries.
- Expedite materials to meet production schedules when necessary.
- Review purchase order acknowledgements and follow up on pricing and delivery issues with suppliers.
- Compile and analyze information regarding usage cost and lead time of materials for strategic sourcing projects.
- Gather data and generate supplier performance scorecards.
- Develop cost savings opportunities and programs to leverage purchasing synergies.
- Maintain accurate computer records involving vendor contact information discounts and lead times.
- Order requisitioned materials for MRO needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS - Bachelors degree in business administration management supply chain production planning or purchasing/procurement.
- In lieu of a degree a minimum of 5 years of buying experience with increasing responsibilities.
- Knowledge and experience working with MRP (Material Requirements Planning)
- Knowledge of sourcing and general inventory and warehouse practices
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Selfdirected with the ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Must be team oriented possess a positive attitude and work well with other employees across various departments
- Strong Excel skills particularly working with pivot tables
- Prefer a candidate with NetSuite experience
