Job Description

Description

This position is central to the missionaries role to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement repentance baptism receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end.

The incumbent provides administrative and operational support to the International MTC (IMTCs) division of the Missionary Department including assisting with purchasing costbenefit analysis general administration project management Spanish language evaluations; backup to the Director and Managers of International MTCs in providing training oversight.



Responsibilities
  1. General Administrative Support (40%)
    1. Assists manager in managing capacities and loading of all IMTCs projecting for the next few months and up to a year
    2. Researches analyzes and prepares reports and presentations on a variety of policy directives procedures and regulations for the director and managers
    3. Prepares reports and communications for IMTC administrative staff and ecclesiastical leaders as assigned by the director and managers
    4. Helps to track and reports on operational budget performance for all international MTCs
    5. Develops and implements techniques for measuring cost effectiveness and outcomes
    6. Analyzes workflow patterns and material needs; makes recommendations to enhance operational and fiscal efficiency
    7. Assists director and managers in forecasting and strategizing balanced loading across all IMTCs for the next several years
    8. Makes written and oral presentations of findings to other members of the division and others as assigned
    9. Drafts reviews and finalizes correspondenceon behalf of the director and managers
    10. Represents the director and managers in training meetings and other meetings as assigned
    11. Works with travel departments and oversees travel arrangements for all IMTC staff
    12. Maintains updates and distributes contact information for all IMTCs
    13. Oversees content and maintenance of IMTC website pages on Google Sites Google Drive and OneDrive
  2. Support of IMTCs(20%)
    1. Conducts business and coordination meetings with MTCs when director and managers are away
    2. Conducts minor project follow up (including replacement & improvement)
    3. Responds to requests and questions and relays challenges for all IMTCs
    4. Maintains schedule for and execution of annual planned correspondence to IMTC Leaders and Managers
    5. Helps organize preseminar tutoring for newly called MTC Presidents and wives
    6. Oversees logistics for the Seminar for MTC Leaders (Initial and interim) (e.g. which missionary classes they will visit media AV needs location etc.)
  3. Key IMTC Division Liaison (20%)
    1. Missionary Department
      1. Works closely with HQ Missionary Department in coordinating MTC loading etc.
      2. Assists with Missionary Department in forecasting training needs based on the worldwide missionary program
      3. Works with the Prefield team in getting missionaries to the correct training programs on the required date
    2. MTC IT
      1. Works closely with Provo MTC Technology and Church Information and Communications Systems (ICS) representing the technology needs of the International MTCs
      2. Acts as main product owner for IMTC technology use including MTC Tools Google Sites and Canvas
      3. Provides regular training followup and support for IMTC technology needs and projects
      4. Manages IMTCs websites
    3. Church Broadcasting
      1. Coordinates with the Publishing Services Department for live transmission of MTC devotionals to IMTCs
      2. Trouble shoots connections and links to ensure that all IMTCs have viewing access
  4. Manage Language Evaluation and Missionary Placement Programs (10%)
    1. Oversees language evaluations of all missionaries attending an international MTC
    2. Determines placement of missionaries within existing MTC training programs
    3. Determines when/if missionaries need to be moved from one training program to another under the oversight of the Manager of IMTCs
    4. Coordinates with the Missionary Department to ensure communication of scheduling changes travel adjustments and other administrative details
  5. Materials Management (5%)
    1. Coordinates the translation distribution and inventory of all missionary and teacher training materials at IMTCs with Church PSD
    2. Ensures all MTCs are utilizing current materials
    3. Determines cost effectiveness of having materials printed in country or else in the USA and then shipped to the country
    4. Oversees shipments of materials
    5. Oversees clothing donations and distribution for lowincome missionaries
  6. English Connect (5%)
    1. Coordinates with all MTCs to ensure distribution of materials
    2. Coordinates regularly with Pathways English Connect team


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in project business or public management education or other related field
  • 3 years experience in operations office administration project managementor related field OR an equivalent combination of both education and experience(parttime experience will be taken into consideration)
  • Excellent organizational secretarial interpersonal public relations and prioritizing skills
  • In addition to English advanced proficiency in Spanish
  • Strong motivation to generate his/her own ideas yet capable of adjusting to ecclesiastical and administrative direction
  • Interpersonal skills in dealing with Church leadership and organizations such as various Church departments area administrative staff and ecclesiastical leaders
  • Must be able to work independently be selfmotivated and be able to work well under pressure
  • Communicate effectively with a variety of individuals representing diverse cultures and backgrounds and function calmly in challenging situations which require a high degree of sensitivity tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to keep sensitive information confidential and must be willing to actively support an effort to build and maintain increased harmony trust and good will within the department and surrounding environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint)

Preferred:

  • At least one year of MTC teaching experience
  • Experience supervising MTC teachers
  • Previous fulltime mission experience
  • Fluency in Portuguese and/or French
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and video editing software
  • Familiarity with Canvas Zoom videoconferencing and Microsoft Teams
  • Type 50 wpm or better
  • Strong editing skills
  • Experience in training teaching and/or office management
  • Broad understanding of Churchwide missionary training including an understanding of MTC training principles andPreach My Gospel
