Job Description
Responsibilities
- Design develop and test flight and ground software for an Earthobserving satellite.
- Write highquality maintainable and welldocumented code in languages such as C Go Python and others as needed.
- Provide technical leadership in the design and implementation of software systems for spacecraft operations.
- Participate in software architecture and design reviews.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including systems engineers hardware engineers and scientists.
- Develop and execute software test plans and procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects.
- Contribute to the development of software development processes and standards.
- Ensure comprehensive and uptodate documentation of software designs code and projectrelated information.
- Mentor junior software engineers.
- Stay uptodate with the latest trends and technologies in software engineering and aerospace.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in software development.
- Strong proficiency in C Go Python or other relevant programming languages.
- Experience with realtime operating systems (RTOS) and embedded systems.
- Experience with software development for aerospace applications is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with satellite systems and technologies such as CFS is a plus.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git).
- Excellent problemsolving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation
- The anticipated compensation for this position is $135000$165000/yr depending on previous experience.
