Job Description

The City of Pueblo is seeking an experienced fire service leader to be our next Deputy Fire Chief! This fulltime leadership position offers you an annual salary of $125259.00 $156459.00  a variety of benefits and a fastpaced work environment giving back to the community.

 

As a Deputy Fire Chief youll ensure all rules regulations and orders are properly enforced while overseeing personnel assignments transfers & discipline. Youll also assist in labor negations handle grievances  conduct internal investigations and lead essential functions including training fire prevention EMS HazMat Airport Ops and more. Additionally youll play a key role in budget planning and longrange strategy for the department.

Qualifications :

  • A bachelors degree from a recognized college or university

AND

  • A valid drivers license at the time of application and a valid Colorado drivers license within 30 days of employment License restrictions that may hinder your ability to drive on City business such as an interlock will be cause for disqualification  During the course of employment a valid license must be maintained and the employee must notify the City immediately upon changes to the status of their license

AND

Required experience:

  • At least eight (8) years of continuous and successful experience in the fire service including three (3) years of successful experience as a Fire Captain with the Pueblo Fire Department
  • OR
  • 15 years of successful experience in fire service and 3 years of successful service as a Battalion Chief or Assistant Fire Chief or equivalent sworn rank
