Job Description
Hours: Full-Time 35 Hours
Work Location: 30-30 Thomson Avenue LIC NY 11101
Only candidates who are permanent in the Administrative Engineer title or those who are reachable on the DDC promotional list (exam #1506) or the open-competitive list (exam #1122) may apply. The NYC Department of Design and Construction Division of Infrastructure seeks a Deputy Director to join the Specification team.
Successful candidate will be responsible for preparing contracts and addendums; developing standard construction language; maintaining and updating standard specifications for roadways sewers water mains and green infrastructure construction; maintaining and updating standard drawings; supervising a team of engineers and reviewing their work; providing timely resolution of problems that may arise during construction of projects; and ensuring completion of projects on time within budget and within allowable IFA rates.
Additionally the Deputy Director will represent the Division and the Specification team at meetings with the Division of Law the Division of the Agency Chief Contracting Officer (ACCO) utility companies and other City State and Federal agencies; and will assist the Director with fulfilling the teams mission as needed.

ADM ENGINEER (NON MGRL) - 1001A
Qualifications :
1. A valid New York State License as a Professional Engineer.
2. Six (6) years of full-time satisfactory experience in chemical engineering civil engineering electrical engineering environmental engineering mechanical engineering or plan examining work at least two (2) years of which must have been in an executive managerial or administrative capacity.
