Job Description

At Mercure Perth part of the Accor global hotel group we pride ourselves on delivering warm hospitality and exceptional guest experiences in the heart of Perth. We are currently seeking an experienced and detailoriented Assistant Financial Controller to join our Finance team and support the delivery of timely and accurate financial operations across the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Department Heads with costeffective strategies to maximise profitability
  • Ensure compliance with credit approval and collection policies
  • Monitor and manage payroll procedures and reporting
  • Maintain and reconcile all inhouse ledgers
  • Monitor debtor balances and implement debt recovery procedures
  • Manage hotel cashflow effectively
  • Develop and improve financial systems and reporting processes
  • Oversee audits to ensure compliance with financial standards
  • Uphold strict cash handling procedures and policies
  • Reconcile and deposit owner payments in line with management agreements
  • Authorise outgoing payments in collaboration with Financial Controller and GM
  • Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist in preparation of budgets and quarterly forecasting with Department Heads
  • Provide timely and accurate financial and statistical reports to all departments
  • Act as Financial Controller in their absence

 


Qualifications :

About You

Knowledge and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance and/or Accounting
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar accounting role within a large organisation
  • Experience with payroll (PAYG GST BAS payroll tax workers compensation superannuation and accounts payable)
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills particularly Excel
