Description

Clark College is currently accepting applications for a fulltime permanent classified Program Manager A in the Workforce Education Services (WES) department. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule of MondayThursday on campus Fridays remote. The hybrid schedule is subject to change based on the needs of the college.

The Program Manager A supports the delivery of WES programs such as Basic Food Employment & Training (BFET) WorkFirst Worker Retraining Opportunity Grant Supporting Students Experiencing Homelessness ReEntry Passport to College and Emergency Grant. This position is primarily responsible for providing supervision and training to workstudy staff triaging student inquiries including monitoring triage and outreach for the WES student application.

WES programs provide financial assistance and support services to students that meet diverse program requirements to assist in closing the equity gaps in enrollment retention and completion.

Position Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee personnel decisions involving student employees. Recommend hiring dismissal disciplinary action and position allocation as related to student employees.
  • Supervise workstudy staff to include establishing schedules facilitating training creating training aides and processing time and leave reporting.
  • Monitor and collaborate with other staff for front end support.
  • Conduct checkins and audits related to WES processes application outreach and student inquiries.
  • Maintain WES office supply/equipment inventory and process orders for new supplies/equipment as needed.
  • Maintain WES Office Bookings calendars and collaborate with WES staff for office coverage needs.
  • Support Director of WES with monitoring WES program budgets including work studyrelated budgets goods and services and travel.
  • Monitor payroll reports and collaborate with Business Services on time and effort reporting.
  • Participate in WES and Student Affairs meetings.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:

Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s) and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:

  • Associates degree or equivalent course work.
  • One (1) year of experience working with an academically culturally and economically diverse student population.
  • Experience interpreting and applying policies rules and regulations working within grant guidelines to determine program eligibility and to ensure compliance.
  • Demonstrated supervisory or lead experience that shows the ability to supervise guide and mentor staff.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite including Word Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience effectively building and maintaining strong relationships with a variety of diverse people and providing excellent customer service that consistently meets or exceeds the needs of students colleagues and the public.
  • Experience effectively coordinating activities services and schedules to ensure smooth and efficient operation of work with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse groups and individuals.

WHAT WE OFFER:


SALARY/BENEFITS:

Salary Range:$4194 $5643/month Step AM(commensurate with qualifications and experience) Range: 48 Code: 107R

Successful candidates typically start at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases.
