District Enrollment Specialist
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in education or related field preferred.
- 35 years of experience working in a K12 education system is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of enrollment management principles including student recruitment and registration.
- Experience developing and/or managing institutionwide processes or procedures.
- Experience managing student records in as well as pulling and utilizing data from an enrollmentbased student information system (SIS) with a clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
- Proficiency using standard office technology applications (word processing database spreadsheets) with willingness to learn new technology as the need arises.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.

Job Goal(s):
Performs the full range of professional duties required to support the Community Relations Department including the performance of complex and/or sensitive activities; may manage largescale longterm projects; and performs related duties as required or assigned.
Position Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for families navigating the enrollment process ensuring a warm welcoming and supportive experience.
- Assist new families and families who need assistance with the registration process offering inperson and virtual support and addressing questions with professionalism and empathy.
- Coordinate with interpreters and interpretation services to ensure language access for families who require translation support.
- Serve as a resource for schools and prospective families by providing information scheduling tours and sharing enrollment materials.
- Provide expertise within specific functions and responsibilities of the department.
- Serve as a resource for schoolbased administration and staff.

Job Specific Responsibilities
- Manage review and verify required documentation for enrollment such as proof of residency immunization records and birth certificates.
- Process indistrict transfers and outofdistrict open enrollments.
- Oversee Kindergarten and Preschool registration in collaboration with Teaching & Learning and Community Relations.
- Stay uptodate on best practices in student enrollment recruitment and registration.
- Work closely with school administrators counselors and departments (transportation special education student services) to facilitate smooth student transitions.
- Act as a liaison with the technology team to troubleshoot enrollment system issues.
- Update enrollment and registration materials maintain the registration website and send timely communications to families.
- Support district efforts to increase enrollment and retention by identifying and addressing potential barriers to registration.
- Collaborate with district departments and building personnel to maintain accurate student records in alignment with state requirements and district policies.
- Send and track student records requests ensuring timely receipt and filing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment:
Year Round Position Salary and calendar year to be evaluated in accordance with Board Policy of the Iowa City Community School District.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Districts policy on Evaluation State Statute and any applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
