Location/Division Specific Information:

Working as part of our Inchinnan team is rewarding in numerous ways. We have the unique opportunity to support both the Bioscience (BID) and Bioproduction (BPG) divisions in our shared mission to enable our customers to make the world healthier cleaner and safer. The BID and BPG divisions are at the forefront of developing solutions for both upstream and downstream manufacturing continuously improving product quality through innovative technologies. From our base in Inchinnan we serve research institutes contract manufacturing organizations clinical laboratories and pharmaceutical companies worldwide. Our extensive portfolio which includes cell analysis gene expression analysis buffers and cell culture media analysis assists these entities in accelerating the commercialisation and largescale manufacturing of new or existing biotherapeutics.

Position Objective:

A level two operator is responsible for the manufacture of cell culture media and reagents. Working in a specific department to either prepare formulate or package product to our customer requirements following a safety quality then service work ethos.

Essential Functions:

  • Safety

Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained within all working areas.

Stop raise and rectify any noticeable hazards immediately.

Ensure all PPE is worn correctly while performing manufacturing tasks.

Follow correct manual handling process for moving equipment trolleys consumables and finished goods.

Hold themselves and all colleagues accountable for following safety policies and procedures.

  • Quality

Demonstrate behaviours expected of working in an aseptic facility.

Ensure key tasks are being performed to the relevant WIN/SOP/Policy

Work to a right first time standard.

Perform inprocess testing to ensure batches meet specification.

With the assistance of others trouble shoot processes procedures and in process batch issues.

Accurate recording and communicating of information e.g batch numbers and completion of forms/logs/BMRs to relevant good documentation practices.

Bring up any issues in real time to ensure material quality.

Service

Manufacture Cell Culture Media for use in the biotech industry that is scientific in nature by following established protocols and instructions.

Adhere to processes and procedures to ensure standard work is followed.

Be process driven to complete workload to planned times by balancing multiple tasks and prioritize critical tasks independently.

Operate semiautomated and automated equipment.

Feedback to supervisor any potential improvement ideas around Quality EHS or productivity

Show Flexibility to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Education:

  • Must possess a National 5 or better in Standard Grade Maths English and at least one science subject. Relevant work experience will be considered as a suitable alternative.

Experience:

  • Internal experience developing from a manufacturing operator 1 role is preferable. Experience in a similar industry is suitable with at least 1 year spent working in a high throughput manufacturing environment.

  • Full training will be given to candidates.

  • Individual must embrace a high paced working environment and show passion for our industry. Must be driven to continuously improve and fully engage in any initiatives that the team undertakes to make things better.

Contacts:

  • Has contact with all Cell Culture employees as well as other functions within the operation. Will liaise extensively with team leaders and supervisors of all work streams and independently communicate with all other departments on matters relating to safety quality and service to uphold the Companys commitment to Customer satisfaction. This involves working with people at all levels within the organization and may involve interaction with customers during site visits.

Working Conditions:

  • Works in a manufacturing environment which has different types of gowning requirements for graded and nongraded areas. Is required to perform manual handling tasks that may be repetitive and involve having to stand for long periods of time while performing duties.

  • Must be able to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials. Must be able to work overtime and a rotating shift pattern
