About the Role
To develop the knowledge base clinical competencies practical procedure skills research basics and selfeducation habits to fulfil the accreditation requirements of the JSAC in Nuclear Medicine.
To undertake Nuclear Medicine service delivery to the Departments patients consulting service to external clinical units intra and extra Departmental teaching.
To participate in the afterhours roster under the supervision of Consultant staff.
To develop academic and research skills as appropriate to own inclinations and the academic program in the Department and to contribute to the academic effort of the Department and of St Vincents Health.
Attend Nuclear Medicine PET/CT work areas.
Maintain active communication with MIT and nursing staff rostered to that area.
Where appropriate protocol requests and supervise acquisition of examinations.
Report acquired studies or perform procedures (as relevant to work area) within limits of own competence and under the supervision of consultant nuclear medicine specialist.
Actively seek support and supervision from consultant as appropriate to own experience skills and level of seniority.
Authorise reports with the shortest possible turnaround; ring the parent unit or the responsible consultant with a verbal report if significant unexpected findings encountered.
Seek validation of own reports.
After hours/ oncall participation as per roster.
Classifications for this position will range from HM25 HM30 ($129048.40 $177622.12 pro rata per annum) salary sacrifice and excluding super
Your Contribution
Medical Degree from a medical school recognised in Victoria
Registration with Medical Board of Australia
Good standing with own Medical Defence Organisation
Post FRANZCR part 2 or FRACP part 1
Current National criminal history check or willing to obtain

St Vincents Medical Imaging provides a comprehensive imaging and guided therapy service across the Fitzroy Campus to support and facilitate the needs of a quaternary hospital. The Imaging Department is run as three distinct services:
Public Medical Imaging Department (MID) located in the main inpatient services (IPS) building
MRI and PET located in Daly basement
St Vincents Private Radiology (SVPR) located in Basement of 55 Victoria Pde Fitzroy.
DSA suite within Main Inpatient Building and access to St Vincents Private Hospital Vascular lab.
