Family Medicine/Urgent Care Physician (Permanent Role) Location: Dallas TX 75246
Shift: Full Time Days
Guaranteed Hours: (36 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)
Essential Responsibilities: - Evaluate and implement quality and efficiency improvement initiatives.
- Monitor urgent care access and capacity implementing strategies to reduce wait times.
- Reduce Emergency Department utilization by managing escalations and protocols.
- Collaborate with hospital and regional leadership on patient care issues and operational improvement.
- Align medical staff goals with the broader organizational objectives.
- Ensure compliance with legal regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Lead recruitment credentialing peer review and physician/APP engagement.
- Assess and implement new medical practices and procedures.
- Foster collaborative relationships with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and supervising physicians.
- Serve as attending physician for Urgent Care rotations within the BUMC Family Medicine Residency Program.
Qualifications: - Education:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required - Licensure & Certification:
- Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas Required
- Current board certification by an appropriate certifying board Required
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of clinical practice experience (including adult and pediatric care)
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience (5 years preferred)
- Experience in medical operations leadership within a healthcare system
- Familiarity with working in a matrix organization and DYAD leadership model
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal collaborative and leadership abilities
- Effective communication presentation and change management skills
- Proven ability to lead quality improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
