Job Description

Family Medicine/Urgent Care Physician (Permanent Role)

Location: Dallas TX 75246
Shift: Full Time Days
Guaranteed Hours: (36 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)

Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Evaluate and implement quality and efficiency improvement initiatives.
  2. Monitor urgent care access and capacity implementing strategies to reduce wait times.
  3. Reduce Emergency Department utilization by managing escalations and protocols.
  4. Collaborate with hospital and regional leadership on patient care issues and operational improvement.
  5. Align medical staff goals with the broader organizational objectives.
  6. Ensure compliance with legal regulatory and accreditation standards.
  7. Lead recruitment credentialing peer review and physician/APP engagement.
  8. Assess and implement new medical practices and procedures.
  9. Foster collaborative relationships with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and supervising physicians.
  10. Serve as attending physician for Urgent Care rotations within the BUMC Family Medicine Residency Program.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required
  • Licensure & Certification:
    • Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas Required
    • Current board certification by an appropriate certifying board Required
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years of clinical practice experience (including adult and pediatric care)
    • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience (5 years preferred)
    • Experience in medical operations leadership within a healthcare system
    • Familiarity with working in a matrix organization and DYAD leadership model
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal collaborative and leadership abilities
    • Effective communication presentation and change management skills
    • Proven ability to lead quality improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
