Job Description

Position Criteria:

  • Valid State of Iowa teaching license
  • Talented and Gifted endorsement or bewilling to obtain (current enrollment preferred)
  • Previous experience teaching PreAlgebra highly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MTSS as it relates to gifted and highlevel learners preferred

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of the ELP learner based on current research.
  • Successful experience working with advanced and ELP learners.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of differentiating instruction and the use of data to guide instruction
  • Use of pedagogically appropriate/best practice instructional methods and a rigorous curriculum designed to prepareallstudents to achieve higher standards and become lifelong learners.
  • Ongoing collaboration with building leadership; commitment to the key processes in a professional learning community; ongoing support for data analysis.
  • Ability to plan a program of study that as much as possible meets the individual needs interests and abilities of the students.
  • Ability to involve parents and communities in supporting student learning and healthy development.
  • Knowledge of and ability to teach prealgebra.
  • Ability to provide jobembedded and differentiated professional development.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the elements of a Professional Learning Community (PLC) and an ability to apply that understanding in order to successfully collaborate with colleagues.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of and an ability to implement the Problem Solving Process and use data to support enrichment for students in instructional settings.
  • Knowledge of an experience with using current technology to support and enhance student learning.
  • A solid understanding of and experience in using multiple teaching methods: collaborating coteaching whole group/small group/individualized instruction.
  • Flexible highly motivated positive and enthusiastic about working with children.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to continual improvement as a means for enhancing student achievement.
  • Understanding of and evidence for the implementation of developmentally appropriate practices for both primary and intermediate aged students.
  • Actively supports and effectively communicates the Waukee Community School District mission vision and values.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development
