Job Description
Position Criteria:
- Valid State of Iowa teaching license
- Talented and Gifted endorsement or bewilling to obtain (current enrollment preferred)
- Previous experience teaching PreAlgebra highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of MTSS as it relates to gifted and highlevel learners preferred
Performance Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of the ELP learner based on current research.
- Successful experience working with advanced and ELP learners.
- Demonstrate knowledge of differentiating instruction and the use of data to guide instruction
- Use of pedagogically appropriate/best practice instructional methods and a rigorous curriculum designed to prepareallstudents to achieve higher standards and become lifelong learners.
- Ongoing collaboration with building leadership; commitment to the key processes in a professional learning community; ongoing support for data analysis.
- Ability to plan a program of study that as much as possible meets the individual needs interests and abilities of the students.
- Ability to involve parents and communities in supporting student learning and healthy development.
- Knowledge of and ability to teach prealgebra.
- Ability to provide jobembedded and differentiated professional development.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the elements of a Professional Learning Community (PLC) and an ability to apply that understanding in order to successfully collaborate with colleagues.
- Demonstrates an understanding of and an ability to implement the Problem Solving Process and use data to support enrichment for students in instructional settings.
- Knowledge of an experience with using current technology to support and enhance student learning.
- A solid understanding of and experience in using multiple teaching methods: collaborating coteaching whole group/small group/individualized instruction.
- Flexible highly motivated positive and enthusiastic about working with children.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to continual improvement as a means for enhancing student achievement.
- Understanding of and evidence for the implementation of developmentally appropriate practices for both primary and intermediate aged students.
- Actively supports and effectively communicates the Waukee Community School District mission vision and values.
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development
