Job Schedule: 9/80 work 9 out of every 14 days totaling 80 hours worked and have every other Friday off
Job Description:
Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking an experienced Project Engineer forour Huntsville AL Headquarters location. The Sr. Specialist Project Engineer role involves performing and/or coordinating propulsion program tasks in conjunction with program management. Undergeneraldirection you will be responsible for implementing design and analysis tasks and overseeing special studies and experiments. Additionally you will coordinate ballistic thermal and structural analyses as well as perform posttest examination analyses and reporting while supporting the program technical lead.
Essential Functions:
- Provide imaginative thorough and practicable solutions to a wide range of technical problems involving the conventional utilization of engineering techniques.
- Read interpret and write specifications and technical documents.
- Prepare technical and design requirements in support of project goals.
- Keep current in relevant technologies and methods in support of project assignments.
- Provide direction in problem investigations and resolution across functional areas.
- Understanding and/or leads Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) process.
- May be assigned Earned Value Management duties.
- Travel up to 10%.
Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering Mechanical Engineering or related discipline andminimum of 6 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Four (4) or more years of experience with solid propellant propulsion projects is highly desired.
- CAD knowledge is desirable.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with technical and nontechnical professionals at all levels inside and outside of the organization
- Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a collaborative dynamic and multidisciplinary environment
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to maintain attention to Detail
- Strong knowledge of the Project Engineer function
