    QUALIFICATIONS
    1. Bachelors degree from an accredited fouryear college or university.
    2. Appropriate certificate as issued by the State of Arizona.
    3. Qualified to provide or supervise the provision of specially designed instruction to meet the unique needs of children with disabilities knowledgeable about the general education curriculum and knowledgeable about the availability/provision of resources of the District in consultation with department administrators.
    4. Experience in the field of special education IEP writing and conducting inservices and training.
    5. Experience in program development and coordination
    6. Knowledge skill and or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies
    7. Ability to obtain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    1. Working knowledge of special education policy procedure and protocol.
    2. Ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills
    3. Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
    4. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
    5. Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
    6. Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and problemsolving skills
    7. Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service skills
    8. Ability to operate computer equipment for email communications word processing data management and other assigned tasks as related to the position.
    9. Ability to operate standard office equipment and database software programs.
    10. Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
    11. Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with staff students parents community members. and outside agency personnel.
    12. Utilize with fidelity the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level.
    13. Attention to detail for managing IEPs and program documentation.
    14. Empathy patience and a genuine passion for working with students with disabilities.
    15. Ability to understand and maintain students and parents rights to confidentiality and not violate those rights; nor discuss students in inappropriate places or with anyone not in direct contact with such individual students.
    16. Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position is held in the highest of confidentiality.
    17. Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws district procedures and Board policies including mandatory reporting procedures.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Coordinate and chair Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings.
    2. Ensure all necessary paperwork and documents for the five essential roles and personnel identified in IEP meetings is complete and in compliance all timelines are met and all procedural safeguards for students and parents have been followed and are in place.
    3. Facilitate a continuum/uniformity of IEP processes and procedures by regularly meeting with special education staff.
    4. Provide training to staff on special education procedures forms and requirements.
    5. Review IEP goals and progress reports to ensure they are high quality appropriate and procedurally compliant.
    6. As appropriate meet with classroom teachers teams of teachers and specialists to address the special education needs of students.
    7. Maintain regular communication with the Director of Exceptional Student Services regarding special education needs of assigned elementary schools.
    8. Remain current in the research and best practices related to students with disabilities and state and federal regulations.
    9. Collaborate closely with site administration.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

    While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to reach with hands and arms sit stand walk stoop and bend as necessary. The employee maylift carry push pull or otherwise move objects weighing a minimum of 10 pounds and could occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. The employee will read correspondence and computer screens and use the telephone.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    Indoor office environment. This position regularly works indoors. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate and may become excessively noisy at times. Will have substantial contact with parents students staff and the public.

    ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
    The Elementary IEP Coordinator reports to the Director of Exceptional Student Services. The Elementary IEP Coordinator will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.

    VIEW INITIAL WAGE PLACEMENT PLAN
    WORK YEAR:12 Months/8 hours
