Business Development Manager (Renewable Energy Sector JHB)

Reports to: CEO
Location: Johannesburg
Job Type: Permanent
Workplace: Hybrid

Salary R50000.00 R80000.00 CTC (Based on experience skill and in relation to your current salary)

Job Summary

Were seeking a dynamic and resultsdriven Business Development Manager who combines a hunters drive for new opportunities with a strategic marketers eye for brand messaging and campaigns. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fastpaced environment excels at building relationships and has the creativity to craft compelling gotomarket strategies that convert.

Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify research and pursue new business opportunities in target markets.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders partners and clients.

  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure.

  • Create and deliver highimpact presentations and proposals.

  • Track and report on pipeline development forecasts and KPIs.

Marketing & Growth

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to design and execute campaigns that drive lead generation and brand awareness.

  • Use data and insights to guide audience targeting messaging and content strategy.

  • Support the development of marketing materials case studies and digital assets.

  • Leverage digital tools (e.g. CRM email marketing platforms social media) to nurture leads and drive engagement.

  • Monitor market trends competitor activity and customer needs.

Leadership

  • Prepare budgets forecasts and reports for senior management.

  • Lead mentor and motivate the sales and marketing teams to achieve targets.

  • Drive residential sales targets for both water and solar solutions.

  • Maintain regular meeting cadence with direct reports.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 36 years of experience in business development sales or a hybrid commercial/marketing role.

  • Proven track record of winning new business and meeting/exceeding targets.

  • Strong understanding of modern marketing (content digital brand inbound/outbound strategies).

  • Excellent communication negotiation and presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g. HubSpot Salesforce) and marketing automation tools.

  • Ability to work crossfunctionally with product marketing and leadership teams.

  • Bachelors degree in Business Marketing or a related field (preferred).
