Job Description

LCRA is looking for a Transmission Safety Manager to join our team! As Safety Manager you will work with the Transmission Operations leadership team to provide continuous improvements in safety through acting as a leader for safety application and integration into the daily activities of Transmission Services employees. We want you if you can serve as an advocate for the Safety Services Transmission Group while possessing the ability to integrate safety knowledge and practices into the daytoday work of LCRA employees. You will be trusted to:

Provide leadership and direction to the utility safety team including:
Hire train assign responsibilities manage performance and determine compensation of subordinate staff in compliance with LCRA policy and handles all aspects of staff supervision.
Provide safety consultation and serve as a safety and health resource for LCRA staff including workers compensation reporting and other safety reports.
Develop coordinate and conduct safety orientations safety training health training and monthly/quarterly safety meetings. Maintain training records.
Lead and perform health and safety inspections and audits.
Investigate complex incidents including documenting tracking reporting and correcting. May assist with LCRA investigations of largescale incidents.
Apply industry knowledge of standards and regulations to review and analyze trends and deviations from LCRA policy.
Lead and coordinate the development and/or improvement of internal safety policies and manuals.
Perform work by traveling independently or with other staff to various locations (substations power plants water systems etc.) as scheduled.

You qualify with:

Twelve or more years of experience in safety and health utility safety to include water gas operations energy generation electric utility transmission and distribution operations or relevant experience. Experience must include at least five years of direct safety team experience within an organization to include experience with administration oversight providing guidance leadership or instruction to operational staff. Experience must include at least five years of experience with ANSI OSHA 1910/1926.269 IEEE C95.62002 DOT standards and applicable work practices and safety policies. A degree(s) in industrial maintenance electrical systems occupational safety and health public health or related field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
A valid drivers license
