Leidos Defense Systems Electrical Systems Department is seeking a talented Electrical System Design Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team to create unique solutions to complex engineering challenges in our Huntsville AL location. The ideal candidate will thrive in a learning environment that encourages leadership and technical growth.
The Electrical Systems Department is a designfocused group of engineers specializing in advanced hardwarebased solutions. As a technical contributor the individual will support a variety of programs to develop electronic assemblies integrated into a diverse range of aerospace and military systems including manned/unmanned ground/air vehicles missiles defensive radars and space systems.

Primary Responsibilities
System level electrical architecture and design
Creating block diagrams electrical system requirements cable specifications and cable drawings
Parts selection and derating activities
New hardware design verification testing
Support system level integration activities
Basic Qualifications
Candidate must possess aBachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABETaccredited institution
Candidate must have8years of experienceinhardware system design and test from architecture through implementation or 6 years with MS degree
Candidate must have experience with technical problem solving and root cause analysis
Candidate must be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment
Candidate must have the ability to interpret schematics wiring diagrams and system block diagrams.
Candidate must haveproven understanding of fundamental circuits and circuit components
Candidate must have handson laboratory experience with instrumentation test equipment and debug/test methods.
Cable design experience in Visio or Excel.
Candidate must be a selfstarter with the ability to work independently
Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville North Alabama AL area.
Candidate must possess a secret clearance or have the ability to obtain a secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with leading small to midsized technical teams.
Familiarity with IPC/WHMAA620 class 3 and IPC JSTD001 Standards.
Electrical design for military hardware or aerospace systems
Experience with high power applications
Familiarity with AS50881 NASA Derating Standard
Cable design experience using SolidWorks Electrical Creo Schematic Draftsight
Experience with special test equipment design/architecture to facilitate production testing of MIL rated components.
Experience with radar frontend and backend architecture design and testing
Experience with RF path design link budget analysis noise figure insertion loss and signal purity calculations.
Experience designing highpower AC electrical distribution systems including generators UPS systems transformers circuit protection and custom control panels
