Job Description

Nexstar Media Inc. station KRON4 the San Francisco Bay Areas Local News Station is looking for an Evening Newscast Producer. We are looking for a producer who knows how to showcase the big story and can quickly adjust for breaking news. This position will line produce edit videos and create some newscast graphics. The Writer/Producer will work out of our San Francisco studio on The Embarcadero.

KRON4 News does more news than any other station in the Bay Area. We produce 13.5 hours of news on weekdays and 9 hours over the weekend.

This will be a fulltime nonunion nonexempt position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Line produce a onehour newscast in ENPS when needed
  • Write news stories and teases.
  • Edit video for stories and teases using Adobe Premiere
  • Create/order newscast graphics.
  • Time newscast in the control room and adjust as needed for breaking news
  • Communicate with reporters assignment desk anchors and managers
  • Management reserves the discretion to add or modify job duties as required
  • Shift may include nights and weekends

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS

  • Prior experience producing a compelling newscast
  • Experience with newsroom systems and desktop editing software
  • Demonstrated ability to work with writers reporters and assignment desk editors
  • College degree or equivalent in journalism/communications or broadcasting preferred

Compensation: $32.00/HR to commensurate with experience and skill level
