Carlisle Public Schools seeks a paraprofessional for the remainder of the 2425 school year to collaborate with faculty to provide academic and emotional support for middle school students fully integrated within gradelevel classes. This is a fulltime position (35 hours/week) beginning August 26 :Associate or Bachelors degree preferredPrior experience working with students with disabilities is requiredTraining or coursework in special education preferredREPORTS TO: Director of Student Support ServicesJOB GOAL: Collaborate with special educators therapists and classroom teachers to modify the curriculum support academic skills and create an environment that promotes emotional wellbeing and educational RESPONSIBILITIES: (Under the direction and supervision of licensed educators who design instruction.)Provide academic support and direct instruction to students individually and in small groups to meet IEP goals/objectives. Take students on breaks to diffuse anxieties or misunderstandingsWhen requested attend planning meetings inservice workshops/training team meetings and parentteacher curriculum materials to meet individual student needs and IEP goals/ knowledge and understanding of current IEPs of assigned students and collect data as a high level of confidentiality and professionalismPerform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Student Support : The Director of Student Support Services conducts performance evaluations annually with input from therapists and teacher(s).
