Were excited to offer an opportunity in our Kirklees Young Peoples Service for an Outrech and Engagement Workerwith the passion skills and experience to support young people facing challenges around substance use and related needs. This role is key in ensuring timely tailored interventions that make a real difference.
A key part of this role is building meaningful relationships with community partners and stakeholders. Youll spend time nurturing trustnot only in our service but in you as a practitioner. Youll also work closely with local teams to share knowledge coordinate support and ensure a joinedup approach that truly benefits the communities we serve.
Where: Kirklees. The majority of your time will be spent in the community engaging directly with children and young people and working with a range of partners across Kirklees. Some of your time will be spent providing support remotely including online and telephone.
Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week
Full Time Salary: 27861.26 32002.35 dependant on experience (based on full time hours pro rata for part time hours)
Fulltime hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For parttime roles the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

About you:
Strong background in working with young people and/or young adults
Experience within community service settings (e.g. youth work mental health substance use sexual health)
Good understanding of the challenges faced by 1625yearolds
Sound knowledge of safeguarding practices and professional accountability
Familiarity with local support services and referral pathways for young people
Experience in riskinformed approaches including use of dynamic risk assessments
Relevant qualification in youth work social care psychology (or willingness to work towards this)
Awareness of the effects risks and harm reduction strategies related to common substances
Clear and confident communicator both written and verbal able to engage diverse audiences
Warm professional and nonjudgemental approach to supporting young people
Skilled in community outreach with a mindful approach to safety and behaviour management
Creative contributor to digital content (e.g. social media and promotional materials)
Flexible and focused able to meet targets and respond to changing priorities
Comfortable working independently and as part of a supportive team
Positive proactive and highly motivated
