The Dothan Brook School is looking for a professional who is passionate about supporting students social emotional needs to join our PBIS team. This position will provide direct student services and facilitate communication and services with families and community agencies. They will also work in partnership with educators to implement educational and therapeutic interventions within the classroom setting. Ongoing training and supervision will be provided by the Hartford School District Clinical Brook is committed to a proactive inclusive and traumainformed approach that contributes to and promotes a safe healthy socially and academically vibrant climate for all stakeholders where building positive relationships is the Job Functions and ResponsibilitiesThe Social Emotional Interventionist will provide oneonone small group and large group instruction around SEL. Instruction will occur in general education and/or alternative classrooms. This position will work in partnership with educators service providers families and other counselors/clinicians to implement educational interventions with the Learning (SEL) Interventions:Provide oneonone and small group evidencebased SEL interventions focused on emotional regulation social skills and behavior skill building. Interventions will support students in overcoming barriers to learning by utilizing evidencebased and traumainformed strategies and instruction. This will occur mostly through Hartford School Districts MTSS layers three and four. Collaboration with Staff:Work closely with classroom teachers special education staff and school counselors to identify students in need of socialemotionalbehavioral support. Foster a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages empathy resilience and respect through intentional relationship building. Coach ESPs with the implementation of the plans and interventions. Interventionists may supervise general education Support:Assess students strengths and challenges. Develop and implement student support plans for students requiring skill building to be successful across school settings. Provide consistent monitoring and feedback to students and their teams and track progress toward identified goals. Crisis Intervention and Deescalation:Respond to and provide immediate support in crisis situations using deescalation techniques and coregulation. Offer emotional support and guidance to students and their teams during moments of distress or Engagement:Build positive relationships with families and guardians keeping them informed of students progress and providing recommendations for support at home. Professional Development and Training:Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in SEL behavioral interventions and traumainformed care. Provide training and resources to staff on how to support the socialemotionalbehavioral needs of and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of student progress interventions and outcomes. Monitor and document the effectiveness of interventions and adjust strategies as needed. Provide regular reports to school leadership and participate in meetings to review student progress.
