Dresden High School is seeking applicants for the position of HeadBoys Basketball Coach. Multiple teaching endorsements will be considered. This teacher should have a Tennessee teaching licensewith a high school endorsement. The ideal candidate will have sufficient coaching experience and a welldeveloped philosophy regarding basketball and physical activity.

Purpose of Job
Weakley County Schools understands that physical education and team sports are vital to school culture and student success. The effectiveteacher coach should plan organize and implement an appropriate instructional program inthe learning environment that guides and encourages students to fulfill their academic potential and enrich the school experience.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
Plan prepare and deliver lessons that align to state standards and facilitate active learning within the district curriculum.
Develop schemes of work assessments and grading in accordance with established procedures
Instruct and monitor students in the use of equipment and technology
In a coaching role engage ALL team members in physical activity that is appropriate for their skills and abilities; conduct a football program that promotes student safety and wellbeing.
Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
Manage student behavior by establishing and reinforcing rules and procedures
Maintain discipline in accordance with local policy and state law
Adhere to the Tennessee Teacher Code of Ethics
Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress according to school and district policies
Participate in department school district and parent meetings
Perform all duties with integrity professionalism and in compliance with all school district state and federal laws/policies.
Model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities
As head coach abide by TSSAA policies and guidelines. Use the position of HC as an opportunity to build character in addition to skill.

Demonstrate skills and preparation in working with students from diverse cultural economic and ability backgrounds
Encourage family and community engagement
Communicate effectively with families
Participate in appropriate professional development and trainings
Perform other duties as assigned
Education Skills and Abilities
Minimum of bachelors degree from an accredited institution
Tennessee Teacher License/Certification in appropriate subject/grade
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with colleagues
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
Understanding of TEAM Evaluation Model
Physical Demands
This job may require lifting objects that exceed 20 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows:
