The Athletic Team

Relationships are foundational for our athletic teams just as they are in the classroom at Mount Vernon. By prioritizing the connections built between coaches and our studentathletes we create an environment of support encouragement and accountability that allows our students to achieve their athletic goals beyond what they ever imagined for themselves. More than 80% of our Upper and Middle School students participate in athletics. Participating in sports plays a positive role in supporting youth development leading to improved academic achievement and stronger social and emotional wellbeing. The Athletic Team works collaboratively to deliver a highquality experience for students and parents that lives into their core value We Over Me.


The Role

Mount Vernon seeks a dedicated strategic and organized Girls Head Varsity Volleyball Coach who will be able to fulfill a fulltime teaching need (see list of opportunities) in addition to leading the extracurricular Girls Varsity Volleyball program. While Volleyball is a fall sport and follows the GHSA calendar team development and mentoring is a yearround commitment as the head coach builds the coaching team and helps develop studentathletes. This is a position that is important to the culture of the school and has the opportunity to build on the successes of Mount Vernons athletic program and be a part of the momentum as we continue our Lets Do This Campaign. This Varsity Coach will serve as the program director for girls volleyballl experiences for K12 at Mount Vernon (Varsity JV and MS programs). Strong candidates will have high school volleyball coaching experience and track record of building excellent relationships with students.
