Purpose of Position: To expertly enroll and underwrite group cases for Word & Brown. This position works closely with agents group contacts group reps and the underwriting department. This position will be working approximately 60% away from the office with minimal supervision.
Essential Functions:
Confirm sale verify and/or prepare enrollment materials and conduct enrollment meetings as requested by brokers and group reps;
Personally underwrite cases and work closely with our current pre underwriting staff to create an effective and efficient underwriting department in Orange. based on the guidelines provided by the Home Office underwriting staff;
Conduct product presentations as needed;
Deliver quotes materials PR items to brokers;
Service top brokers as defined by the Regional VP and group sales reps;
Assist with seminars and various broker events during down time;
Produce monthly activity report
During meetings with brokers Enroller will explain how broker becomes eligible for various services and describe features. Enroller will follow up with Manager to coordinate training with broker.
Onsite regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.
Performs other business tasks or functions as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge Skills & Abilities Required:
Two to three (23) years industry experience in small group sales underwriting or client services
Ability to familiarize yourself with broker Desk Reference Guide and other documents needed within a specified amount of time.
Current California Life & Health license preferred but not required.
Computer literate with working knowledge of Outlook Word and Excel.
Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required
Own transportation; must possess a valid California drivers license have and maintain proper car insurance.
Excellent verbal communication skills particularly in front of groups.
Educational Requirements:
High school diploma GED or equivalent required.
College coursework preferred
Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and occasional standing and walking. Must have adequate hearing for phone work. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Must be able to use a keyboard and other office equipment. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
