Background
The Outreach team works with students at schools and colleges across the West Midlands providing them with information advice and guidance about higher education. Our programmes and activities are designed to help students raise their aspirations and feel confident about applying to and succeeding in university level study. We work with over 250 partner schools and colleges hosting visits for school groups and presenting at events in school. We also run residential summer schools in July for students in Year 10 and Year 12. The focus of our work is to support students who come from backgrounds underrepresented within higher education to develop the skills and knowledge needed to make informed decisions about and be successful in university level education.
Role Summary
This will be an active varied and handon role which will involve supporting the Outreach team in their work with schools and colleges across the wider West Midlands region. You will be working on a range of projects which may include hosting visits for students on campus visiting schools and colleges across the region to speak to students and teachers and supporting the delivering of events for students on our outreach programmes. The position will also involve specific assistance with our Year 10 and Year 12 residential summer schools.
The role will provide opportunities for you to develop your communication project management and decisionmaking skills. You will be able to take ownership of different projects and events under guidance and supervision. You will be working in a team have will have the chance to get involved in all aspects of the work of the Outreach team.

Additional Information
During the busy summer school period the post holder may be required to work extended hours including supporting evening activities and staying overnight in University residences with other Outreach staff and summer school participants. Students will be given time back in lieu for these additional hours worked.
