Horizon Christian Program (HCP) is an alternative faithbased publicschool program which is part of DA Ferguson Middle School and WR Myers High School. The program contains over 100 students from grades 612 and continues to grow every year. Our staff and students are committed to creating a faithbased culturally sensitive educationcentered environment which accommodates all student learning needs. We focus teaching students through a Christian lens developing empowered leaders with the skills and faith to succeed and thrive after graduation.
Temporary Teacher 1.0 FTE English and Foods
Assignment includes Horizon Christian Program
Were looking for a passionate relationshipfocused teacher to join our Horizon Christian Program team. This position involves teaching English Language Arts at the Grade 8 9 20 and 30 levels as well as Foods. The successful candidate will work closely with a tightknit group of students and families many of whom come from a Mennonite background. An understanding of Mennonite culture is an asset. We are seeking applications for candidates that have a proven strength or passion for working with ELL students. Applicants should be comfortable delivering curriculum in a manner that takes into consideration the cultural and religious contexts of the students in our setting. The biggest strength with be the ability to be kind patient and able to build real connections with the youth in our school.
