Quality Control Manager
Responsibilities:
- Overall responsible for product quality as measured by company industry and customer specifications.
- Serve as a leader and champion in building and maintaining a quality driven company culture.
- Establish manufacturing quality control processes that reduce defects enhance efficiencies and minimize costs.
- Build manage and mentor a team of five employees.
- Establish and maintain department processes and training.
- Create and manage Production inspection programs to ensure strict adherence to manufacturing requirements.
- Create and manage a standardized defect reporting and monitoring system.
- Create First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) AS9102 reports.
- Serve as leader of Cause and Corrective Action investigations that identify and resolve root causes of discrepancies by using bestpractice lean methods.
- Work closely with Engineering Purchasing and Production to ensure quality requirements are captured and verified throughout the manufacturing process.
- Manage external Quality Control by resolving quality issues reported from customers and ensuring quality control of suppliers.
- Establish quality training programs for each manufacturing work center.
- Establish department and company quality performance metrics (Lab Rejection Rate Internal/External performance assessments Customer Complaints etc).
- Serve as company Quality representative when engaging with customers and suppliers in support of quality audits and quality control discussions.
- Support the AS9100D / ISO9001 Quality Management System relative to company goals and requirements. Where necessary establish new QMS controls and consolidate QMS requirements to align with standard practices and procedures with AS9100D/ISO9001.
- Support Nadcap accreditation activities.
- Support formal quality improvement initiatives including Continuous Improvement projects using methods such as Kaizens Value Stream Analysis PDCA DMAIC 5S and SQCDP visual management boards.
Qualifications:
- 4 years manufacturing experience in related field
- AS9100 ISO 9001 quality management systems as well as NADCAP accreditation experience
- 4 years experience in aviation/aerospace manufacturing environment. Manufacturing experience in the medical industry may also be considered.
- 4year degree in quality physical sciences chemistry engineering or similar
- 4 years managing staff
- Experience in chemical processes or composite material manufacturing
- Experience in managing a test laboratory environment
Preferred Qualification:
- Manufacturing quality certification recognized by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) such as CMQ/OE CQPA CQE and CQA.
- Lean Six Sigma Certification.
Salary: 100120k commensurate upon experience and education.
Position is onsite only. Hours: 7am3:30pm
