Classification Level: 4 ($44.37 to $47.74/hr)

THE ROLE

The Intake and Assessment Worker team is responsible for providing an initial point of contact in relation to community members who present to the organisation for assistance particularly around domestic and family violence and housing/homelessness. The Intake and Assessment Worker will work in conjunction with the Manager Coordinator and other team members and be primarily responsible for:

The position involves initial phonebased intake and assessment some centrebased and outreach functions. This role is based in Kyabras Nambour office. There may be a requirement for some occasional travel to Brisbane.


Experience in intake and assessment and domestic and family violence is essential. Experience in housing and homelessness is highly desirable. Knowledge of client management systems and the ability to rapidly learn new systems such as QHIP and/or other databases is highly desirable.

Hours of Work

The successful candidate is expected to work 76h 00m per fortnight.

REQUIREMENTS

A bachelors degree in Social Work/Human Services or similar.

Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working in case management in the community service sector including the use of client management systems (e.g. QHIP) as well as experience in the following areas: needs assessment domestic and family violence housing/homelessness disability mental health individual/family support.

Understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act.

Cultural competency including a demonstrated understanding of and experience with working with people from CALD backgrounds.

Understanding of and commitment to the principles of social justice as well as a demonstrated capacity to work with community members using a strengthsbased approach.

Strong communication interpersonal and organisational skills including an ability to work autonomously or as part of a team and adapt to various circumstances as necessary to support community members.

Intermediate computer literacy skills including familiarity with Microsoft 365 Office Suite.

A valid open drivers license.

A valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or eligibility to attain one as well as a willingness to partake in any other required police/history checks as required by the organisation.

Desirable

Knowledge of broader referral networks or the ability to rapidly acquire them.
