Job Description

Innovative SENCO Respected Secondary School Abingdon September Start

Location: Abingdon Contract: FullTime Permanent Start Date: September 2025 Salary: MPS/UPS TLR

A respected and progressive secondary school in Abingdon is seeking an outstanding SENCO to lead on SEND strategy and inclusive provision from September. This is a crucial leadership post that would suit a driven knowledgeable and compassionate practitioner who is passionate about SEND education and inclusion.

The school is highachieving and has a longstanding reputation for supporting every student to reach their potential academically and personally. With an ethos rooted in care curiosity and challenge this is a fantastic opportunity for a SENCO to contribute to meaningful wholeschool impact.

Your Role:
Youll lead a wellestablished Inclusion Team overseeing EHCP processes interventions and staff CPD. Youll work closely with pastoral leaders and teaching staff to ensure that classroom practice reflects inclusive strategies and adaptive pedagogy. Liaising with external agencies and families will also form a significant part of the role.

Youll be:

Strategically minded with a deep understanding of SEND Code of Practice

Confident in analysing data and identifying emerging trends

Committed to wholeschool development and culturebuilding

Able to communicate complex needs in a clear solutionfocused way
