Company Introduction:G&C Food Distributors is a redistributor of refrigerated frozen and dry food. Our sole distribution center is in Syracuse NY. We store and deliver more than 4000 food items to meet the needs of our customers across 27 states and 28 states internationally.
In recent years G&C Foods has grown to be one of the most respected redistributors in the United States. We are rapidly expanding all areas of our organization.
Location: Syracuse NY
Schedule: MondayFriday 7:00 am 4:00 pm
Job Summary:
The VMF Parts Specialist at G&C Foods will be responsible for all duties and responsibilities listed below for the Transportation Department. The VMF Parts Specialist will work directly with all VMF staff on the responsibilities below.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor inventory items with high turnover rates and order at the best price from all available vendors.
- Create POs for all VMF parts and supplies ordered.
- Receive all POs verifying all quantities and pricing.
- Special order any nonstock items as needed.
- Perform monthly inventories of parts room.
- Ensure all parts are correctly priced in maintenance software.
- Distribute parts to mechanics during workday as needed
- Run send and maintain all parts use and inventory reports as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of parts room.
- Assist with daily cleaning and trash removal from VMF as needed.
- Build repair orders from all red tag emails.
- Assist VMF Staff with Road calls
- Other duties as assigned by VMF management and supervision.
Experience and Education Required:
- Excellent Customer Services skills required.
- Excellent Communication skills required.
- Must be able to multitask and work in a fastpaced environment
- Heavy Duty Parts experience is a plus.
- Inventory Management is a Plus
- CDL A or B is a plus.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience in Transportation or Logistics a plus
- Experience in the Food Industry a plus
