Meeting Street is currently looking for a Mental Health Clinician for 40 per week.


Duties:


Early Intervention:

  • Partners and provides psychological support and services to families of infants or toddlers with or at risk for developmental delay(s) so that the child can develop to their fullest potential and participate functionally within his/her family and community by addressing problems in the childs growth and development.
  • Works as member of team and partner with the family to gather organize analyze interpret and accurately report on information from multiple sources to plan and administer an individualized evaluation/assessment.
  • Conducts ongoing assessments to monitor childs development and functional skills progress toward IFSP outcomes and to determine effectiveness of individual program planning.
  • Refers coordinates and mobilizes other community resources to enable the child and family to receive maximum benefit from early intervention supports and services.
  • Develops IFSPs that clearly outline family supports individualized strategies and relevant services that work toward outcome achievement in a variety of settings and that can be independently owned and operated by the families.
  • Conducts home visits to evaluate a childs living conditions and patterns of parentchild interactions.
  • Provides intervention to address those problems in a childs and familys living situation (home community and any other location where early intervention supports and service are provided) that affect the childs maximum utilization of early intervention support and services.
  • Implements individual and familygroup counselling with the parents and other family members and provides appropriate social skillbuilding activities with the infant or toddler and parent(s).
  • Plans and manages a program of psychological services including psychological counseling for children and parents(s) family counseling consultation on child development parent training and education programs.

Early Head Start:


  • Provides mental health activities for pregnant women children (up to age 3 and their families.
  • Provides delivery of early childhood mental health services to Early Head Start families and staff in compliance with all applicable federal state and agency policies procedures and regulations.
  • Provides timely evaluation and intervention of children with behavioral and/or socialemotional concerns.
  • Provides resources responsive to families identified needs and/or interests in a timely manner.
  • Integrates the parents guardians and/or families in the early childhood mental health services program; works collaboratively with parents by soliciting parental information making observations and addressing concerns about their childs mental health.
  • Shares observations of the child and discusses childs behavior and development with the parents.
  • Completes socialization observations and provides feedback to address social emotional growth in the classroom.
  • Helps parents to better understand mental health issues and supports parents participation in any needed mental health interventions.
  • Works with program staff and parents to design and implement program practices responsive to identified behavioral and mental health concerns of an individual child or group of children.


Requirements:


  • Experience working with infants toddlers and families in an Early Childhood setting.
  • Home visiting and or Case Management experience within a multidisciplinary team preferred.
  • One of the following state licenses: Psychology Licensed by the Board of Psychology: Rhode Island Department of Health. Social Work Licensed by the Board of Social Work Examiners: Rhode Island Department of Health. Mental Health Counselor Licensed as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor by the Board of Mental Health Counselors and Marriage and Family Therapists Rhode Island Department of Health
  • Commits to ongoing professional growth. Employees of Early Intervention are required to obtain twenty hours of training a year in addition or in correlation with the requirements for your professional certification.
  • CPR and first aid certifications or be willing and able to become certified.
