Job Description
Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Network Engineer (Deployment Technician) to join our dynamic team in the Annapolis Junction MD area. Our team provides full spectrum network connectivity including architecture engineering development integration deployment configuration management project management and network security services to the global enterprise as well as systems and cloud engineering services for application modernization and transition of legacy applications into hybrid cloud platforms.
This role conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options. Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network. The ideal candidate will have strong network engineering background especially with network vendor products (i.e. Cisco Palo Alto Sonicwall etc).
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree with 5 years of related experience Associates degree with 7 years of related experience or a high school diploma with with 9 years of related experience is required.
- Active DOD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification or higher is required
- Knowledge of networking equipment and boxes
- Ability to conduct site surveys and optimize network topologies
- Experience preparing site installation and test reports
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required
