The Infectious Diseases Research Unit is based out of the OHSUPSU School of Public Health. The group specializes in evaluations of infectious disease in individual patients and the population as a whole. The groups experts are national leaders in two rare diseases that predominantly affect the lungs nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM disease) and bronchiectasis.
This is a summeronly position that will support several projects for the IDRU. Research projects include supporting the national Bronchiectasis Research Registry which includes individuals with either bronchiectasis or nontuberculous mycobacterial lung disease clinical trials in NTM disease or bronchiectasis and other clinical research focusing on infectious diseases. Responsibilities include calling and scheduling participants performing chart abstraction and data entry assisting study coordinators during participant research visits (e.g. meeting participants and directing them to the correct locations for research waiting for participants during procedures picking up or delivering study supplies (paperwork kits shipping labels etc. filing paperwork stuffing envelopes for recruitment and other logistical support.
Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in Undergraduate Program (minimum 6 credit hours)
Any research experience
Experience interacting with research participants
Experience with literature reviews
Strong written verbal comminication and proficeincy in MS Office Suite; meticulous record keeping and organization skills.
Several days a week only between MondayFriday; between 8:30am 5:00pm (work schedule flexible and will vary depending on study needs)
