Job Description

It all began in my kitchen Sarabeth

Sarabeths began as a tiny bakerykitchen in 1981 whereSarabeth Levine sold her preserves and baked goods. Quickly gaining popularitythe store began to serve breakfast and lunch along with the original preservesand baked goods that landed Sarabeths on the map.

Today Sarabeths has four locations in Manhattan andseveral others around the world. Renowned for our popular brunch we have alsobecome well admired for our take on contemporary American cuisine at dinnerlively happy hours and private events. Wetake great pride in creating a memorable experience for each guest with genuinehospitality and exceptional cuisine.

The Opportunity

Bartenders are responsible for all aspects of the guest experience at thebar including greetings menu sales bar maintenance overall guestsatisfaction and happiness maintaining a general command ofthe food and beverage menu.

You willwork to prepare and serve consistently excellent beverages to guests eitherdirectly at the bar or through serving staff; provide impeccable hospitality toeach of our clients working specifically with each individual need to curatethe best experience possible.

What youll be doing:

  • Providing friendly attentive service thatmakes guests feel well taken care of and inspires their intent to return.
  • All actions must be taken with the guestsbest interest in mind so as to establish rapport build business and acquireguest loyalty.
  • Offering assistance and accommodating guestrequests whenever possible.
  • Offering a warm farewell and thank you toevery guest as they leave the restaurant.
  • Immediately notifying management of any guestcomplaints including any interactions with a guest that lead you to believethat the guest is not 100 happy with their visit.
  • Sell wine and beverages through proactiveoffering and product knowledge.
  • Explain specials and menu itemsenthusiastically through thorough product knowledge.
  • Learn menu POS policies and procedures andbe able to execute accurately.
  • Strong bartending and mixology operationalskill. Recipe adherence.
  • Barista skill for specialty coffees.
  • Set up shift maintenance and breakdown of barand service areas.
  • Commitment to learning and executing allorganization service standards; five behaviors hospitality versus service andsteps of service.
  • Accurate cash handling.

Requirements:

  • A minimum 3 years of bartender experience in a wellrated restaurant.
  • Excellent communication skills with gueststeam members and management.
  • The ability to multitask and prioritize whileremaining calm and professional in a fastpaced environment.
  • Understanding of Department of Health hygiene and safety rules.
  • TIPS certification preferred.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to reach bend stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work nights weekends and holidays and variable schedule per the needs of the business
  • Ability to speak and read English.
  • Commitment to maintaining availability thataligns with needs of the business
