Amazon Haul a shopping experience in the Amazon Shopping app that provides customers in the U.S. a place to discover even more affordable fashion home lifestyle electronics and other products with ultralow prices with everything priced at $20 or less. This exciting discoverydriven CX is dedicated to generic products at ultraaffordable prices with fulfillment by Amazon direct from manufacturer country of origin (initially from China) in one to two weeks. The stores intuitive browsebased design and escalating discounts encourages exploration and larger basket sizes.

Launched in November 2024 its still early days in the journey and the perfect time to join the team at the ground level. Were looking for a passionate and experienced Software Development Manager to join our team in San Francisco and lead distinct Customer Experience initiatives for Project Haul.



Key job responsibilities
Lead and manage a twopizza team of software engineers fostering a culture of innovation and customercentricity
Own distinct customer experiences for Project Haul including but not limited to browse search recommendations gamification promotions detail pages cart and checkout
Collaborate with product managers designers and partner teams to define strategy and roadmaps for compelling capabilities
Drive the overall development lifecycle of solutions and manage complex projects with significant bottomline impact
Instill best practices for software development documentation and quality assurance
Ensure designs meet requirements and deliver highquality work on tight schedules
Prioritize and plan projects and features manage stakeholders and track external commitments
Oversee operational excellence including monitoring and operation of production services
Identify hire and develop worldclass talent managing the career growth of your team members


3 years of engineering team management experience
7 years of engineering experience
8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
