Job description

As a HVAC/R service technician you will perform troubleshooting repair and maintenance tasks on commercial and light industrial HVAC equipment.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform assigned HVAC/R maintenance and troubleshooting task safely in commercial and industrial settings
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair of commercial HVAC equipment as needed
  • Diagnose causes of breakdowns test parts with appropriate instruments disassemble and assemble parts and make necessary repairs to equipment and associated components.
  • Service diagnose and troubleshoot a variety of refrigeration equipment such as coolers reach in coolers walkin boxes cooler display cases and ice machines
  • Service diagnose and troubleshoot various types of split systems packaged rooftop rooftop units heat pumps DX systems pneumatic electrical control systems and other mechanical equipment
  • Diagnose causes of breakdowns test parts with appropriate instruments disassemble and assemble parts and make necessary repairs to equipment and associated components.
  • Use your HVAC/R skills and experience to troubleshoot repair and maintain medium to large sized complex heating cooling and refrigeration systems and associated control systems
  • Prepares for onsite installation and repairs by examining building layout gathering material and coordinating onsite work with customer and dispatcher
  • Complete required electronic documentation daily on a handheld device
  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks within an allotted time frame
  • Operate company vehicle to complete service calls in a specified territory
  • Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned

Education Training Licenses and/or Certifications:

  • 3/5 years of experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial and/or industrial HVAC/R equipment
  • Experience servicing diagnosing and troubleshooting a variety of refrigeration equipment such as coolers reach in coolers walkin boxes cooler display cases and ice machines
  • EPA universal certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • OSHA 10 hour preferred

  • Ability to stand squat bend stoop and comfortably lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficiency with electrical and mechanical diagnostics
  • Familiarity with blueprint schematic drawings and other equipment layout materials
  • Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening
  • Ability to pass MVR check
  • Ability to pass a physical ability test
  • Ability to travel as needed for projects
