Job Description

In this fulltime permanent role the Project Director of Major Projects will lead and drive successful delivery of major projects across Aotearoa New Zealand. This role is to be based in our Tmaki Makaurau Auckland CBD office with regional/national travel as required to suit project requirements. Projects span multiple sectors such as Health Data Centres Stadia Hotels and others. 

Responsibilities for the role include: 

  • Leading and managing largescale projects as the key client interface.
  • Developing working relationships problem solving and driving projects to successful completion.
  • Managing the design process to achieve the clients requirements and manage expectations.
  • Reviewing project plans and specifications scheduling costs saving measures discrepancies potential construction problems etc.
  • Managing project safety and environmental requirements.
  • Managing project timelines risks and reporting.
  • Managing project budgets and advising on options to keep budget on track.
  • Direct line management team responsibilities.
  • Travel to client offices as required.

Qualifications :

To be successful in your application we are looking for somebody who has:

  • Full working rights for Aotearoa New Zealand.
  • 20 years of industry experience working on and successfully delivering major projects specifically within the Health/Hospitals space.
  • A recognised degree relating to a technical field: Engineering Construction Management or Project Management.
  • A mix of domestic and international experience is preferable.
  • The ability to thrive in a high pressure fast paced environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft skills (essential) and Primavera skills will be highly regarded.
  • The technical ability to lead and manage complex projects and programs as the key client interface.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English with excellent report and bid writing skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and develop a team.
  • A passion for delivering to your clients.
