Who are we looking for

TheUS West Regionis looking for a motivatedSenior Project Engineer / Design Manager Highways & Roadsto support GHDs established Highways and Roads practice throughout the California and the US West. We are seeking a proactive Transportation Project Engineer/ Design Manager with the skills to help take our practice to the next level in the delivery of highways interchanges local roads roundabouts trails / active transportation bridges and other enriching and vital improvements.

Through a broad network of clients GHD has exposure to these transportation projects through Federal State Regional County and Municipal agencies and private sectors. This is a unique opportunity to join a large wellestablished organization with a culture that promotes teamwork integrity and respect. You will work closelywith our highly skilled multidisciplinary teams throughout the organization and our clients to efficiently deliver projects and provide high value consultancy services.

This position will be based out of any of our California offices (Irvine San Diego Long Beach Los Aneles Concord Santa Rosa Roseville Concord San Francsico but will be networked through our offices across the West Region with a focus on our offices in California.

Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Technical Guidance and Project Oversight: Providing expertise and guidance on various engineering projects with a focus on transportation systems such as highways roadways and more.
• Design Delivery: Overseeing and leading the production of complex engineering designs drawings details and specifications.
• Project Scope and Schedule Management: Assisting project managers in developing and managing project scopes schedules budgets and quality plans. Your expertise will contribute to effective project planning and .
• Team Leadership: Leading a cohesive team including subconsultants to achieve project objectives promoting collaboration and creating a positive work environment.
• Coaching and Mentoring: Playing a crucial role in coaching and mentoring junior staff helping them develop their skills and knowledge.
• Community and Professional Engagement: Actively engaging in community and professional organizations representing our company and staying uptodate with industry trends.
• Client Relationship Management: Actively participating in client relationship management attending client meetings as needed.

What you will bring to the team:

• Strong foundation and understanding of PS&E package development across multiple software design platforms strong prior experience with both AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microstation desired.
• A selfstarter with excellent communication time management and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of Caltrans and AASHTO guidelines and standards.
• Experience with local agency state and federally funded transportation projects including projects delivered in partnership with Caltrans through their oversight process.
• Demonstrated ability to direct and delegate work assignments to others ensuring efficient project efficient delivery and schedule adherence.
• Capability to provide mentorship to staff within a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment and knowledge with staff and peers.
• Ability to support development of project/client proposals and participate in interviews as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Registered Civil Engineer in the State of California Required
• 8 years of experience with solid technical knowledge and skills across the transportation & municipal engineering including a strong background in planning & design; construction experience a plus.

Salary Range: $138000$207000 based on experience and location
