* This position is financed by a thirdparty external to the Organization with funding provided by the donor. Although there is a commitment from the donor the appointment may be terminated prior to 31 December 2026 should the external funding for this position no longer be available. This position also carries in principle no expectation of renewal. Any potential subsequent extension will be subject to the terms of the Organizations Staff Manual to satisfactory performance and to availability of funds.
Tests/interviews in connection to this selection procedure will take place approximately 34 weeks after the deadline for applications. Applicants are kindly requested to plan their availability during this period accordingly in case they are shortlisted.
Selected candidates will be expected to report for duty approximately two to three months after receiving an offer of employment at the latest.
This selection exercise may be used to generate a reserve list of suitable candidates that may be used to address Organizations similar staffing needs in the future.
INTRODUCTION OF POST
Under the supervision and guidance of the Chemical and Explosives Terrorism Prevention Unit Coordinator the post holder assumes the responsibility for projects on prevention preparedness response and investigative support activities that will improve the chemical and explosivesrelated capabilities and cooperation amongst member countries by ensuring compliance with INTERPOL strategic priorities.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Organize work assigned related to specific projects by preparing and implementing programmes in specific areas depending on the needs of Member Countries. Design prepare and deliver specialized training courses curricula and presentations focusing on Radiological and Nuclear (RN) crime and terrorism response and investigation requiring expertise in instructional design adult learning and CBRNE matters and complete and deliver summary reports related to those initiatives by describing deliverables outcomes and recommendations.
- Prepare briefing documents and summary reports related to projects on RN crime and terrorism response and investigation and develop highquality written communications including technical reports that clearly and accurately convey complex technical information to diverse audiences. Deliver technical oral presentations that provide detailed technical analysis and insights on specialized topics such as threat assessment and risk mitigation. Analyze and link relevant information to identify trends and inform strategic initiatives. Organize and participate in meetings and conferences including preparing draft agendas circular letters and invitations to specialist speakers and facilitate discussions and presentations.
- Conduct ongoing research and analysis to stay current on new and emerging threats related to RN crime and terrorism response and investigation and utilize this knowledge to provide expertise to RN initiatives and International outreach informing the development of effective content. Prepare written communications and make oral presentations as appropriate drafting Mission Reports After Action Reports and any additional documents as necessary or as directed by the hierarchy.
- Assist in organizing RN related operations with member countries including planning executing and evaluating operations to enhance international cooperation and improve the global response to RN criminal and terrorism threats.
- Liaise closely with experts in RN crime and terrorism prevention response and investigation from member countries and external organizations to facilitate information sharing and exchange on best practices and lessons learned and to identify areas of cooperation and collaboration.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION REQUIRED
- Minimum of three to four years of education at University or other specialized higher education establishment.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Three years inCBRNE response and investigations is essential five years preferred.
- Ten years of law enforcement experience if the post holder does not have the required level of education.
- Proven experience in investigating major crime.
- Proven experience in teaching CBRNE related activities or programmes
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation of targeted law enforcement CBRNE activities.
- Experience of working in the international environment will be a strong asset.
LANGUAGES
- Excellent command of English is required (both oral and written)
- Proficiency in a second official language of the Organization is desirable.
ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Sound operational law enforcement knowledge related to CBRNE and CT and major crime modalities in regards to response investigation and prosecution;
- Strong technical knowledge in the area of CBRNE training and operational procedures;
- Proven experience in organizing major events or training activities related to CBRNE field;
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills with the ability to deliver technical briefings;
- Ability to work collaboratively with international partners stakeholders and experts;
- Strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse groups;
- Strong ability to think strategically and provide innovative solutions to complex problems;
- Ability to work in a fastpaced and dynamic environment with the ability to prioritize tasks;
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and deliver results;
