Job Description

We are looking for adie casting operatorto join the Gripple operations team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident hardworking individual capable of working both as part of a team and on their own.

The role

We are looking for a technical enthusiastic and flexible person with a keen eye for detail. Based at our Hellaby site Rotherham and reporting to a shift leader your main task will be to contribute to the departmental goals each day including quality control part collection/material preparation whilst ensuring all departmental responsibilities are to standard. This can be a physically demanding role. Energy and enthusiasm and a positive outlook are essential.

The position will also involve:

  • quality of our components is essential and therefore inspection of finished products and identifying defects with components or finished goods is mandatory
  • operating machinery and equipment to high standards ensuring targets are achieved
  • basic production fault finding to identify machinery/production inefficiencies
  • reading understanding and following relevant standard operating procedures to ensure H&S and quality is paramount
  • assisting Process Engineers during change overs
  • undertaking asset care as part of your daily role
  • maintaining and driving forward 5S standards
  • using IT systems to update works orders and complete quality checks

Working hours

The position will entail working a regular 3 shift pattern mornings nights and afternoons (Monday to Friday). Weekend work may also be required to meet the demands of the business and you may also be required to help in other areas on site. A flexible can do attitude is therefore paramount.

Who you are

Knowledge skills and experience:

  • a good mechanical aptitude and a passion for engineering
  • numeracy skills and an ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner with a good standard of written and spoken English

  • an organised approach and ability to cope well under pressure
  • good problemsolving capacity and ability to work on own initiative
