Job Description

  • Meticulously prepare small (less than 200L) and large 200L500L) volume buffers and tissue culture media in strict adherence to standard operating procedures for various R&D science lines and pilot manufacturing.
  • Expertly set up operate and critically assess nonGMP unit operations including bioreactors centrifugation filtration chromatography ultrafiltration/diafiltration and final fill processes ensuring optimal performance and results.
  • Rigorously execute CleaninPlace (CIP) and SterilizeinPlace (SIP) protocols conduct aseptic sampling with utmost precision and diligently manage parts washing inventory documentation work order generation and data entry/evaluation.
  • Perform complex algebraic mathematical calculations with high accuracy to determine critical parameters such as molarity molality and percentages.
  • Precisely calculate volumes of solution components based on intricate mathematical formulas ensuring exact proportions for experimental and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications :

Required Experience:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in buffer and media preparation (small & large volumes) for R&D and pilot manufacturing
  • Extensive knowledge of nonGMP unit operations: bioreactors centrifugation filtration chromatography ultrafiltration/diafiltration final fill
  • Proven ability to execute CIP/SIP protocols perform aseptic sampling manage parts washing inventory and documentation
  • Competence in work order generation data entry and evaluation
  • Advanced skills in algebraic calculations: molarity molality percentages solution component volumes

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment (bioprocess/chemical process) or Associates degree in a scientific field with relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrix team environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in interfacing with automated systems
  • Unwavering commitment to safety protocols and procedures
  • Proven capacity for independent work and adaptability to shifting priorities
  • Comprehensive understanding of continuous improvement tools (LEAN/Six Sigma 5S)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods exceeding 85 of work hours in an indoor laboratory environment
  • Capability to navigate between buildings and traverse stairs
  • Physical flexibility to bend at knees and waist for lifting activities
  • Competence to transport items up to 500 lbs with assisted equipment
  • Ability to move raw materials/media powders (up to 90 lbs) and liquid stocks (up to 20L) utilizing assisted lifting equipment
  • Proficiency in handling hazardous materials with personal protective equipment strictly adhering to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards

Additional Details: 

The position is fulltime onsite MonFri 6:30 am2:30 pm. Overtime will be required on a rotational basis to cover weekend Bioreactor sampling and occasional offshift operations. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Andover MA and the surrounding areas are encouraged to apply.
