QUALIFICATIONS:
1. PA Elementary and Secondary School Counselor certification (PK12 required.
- Demonstrated experience in individual personal/social counseling.
- Have experience with small group facilitation.
- Have experience consulting with parents and staff.
- Demonstrate awareness of human growth and development.
- Experience in administering and interpreting standardized testing.
- Experience working with school teams.
- Experience working with elementary/middle/secondary school schedules.
- Ability to develop programs and to write and present classroom lessons.
- Ability to make large group presentations to parents.
- Classroom teaching experience at appropriate grade span preferred.
- Experience with postsecondary planning college admissions career planning.
- Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO:Principal and Director of Student Services
JOB GOAL:To provide academic college career social and emotional counseling and student specific interventions to support the needs of students in school through classroom small group and/or individual sessions.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide classroom lessons based on needs and approved district curriculum and initiatives.
- Provide group and individual counseling sessions for students.
- Assist students with problem solving and developing skills needed for success in school.
- Participate as a member of the Student Support Team Crisis Response Team and Guidance Department.
- Provide individually designed interventions as needed.
- Provide training and workshop opportunities to parents and staff.
- Meet with parents teachers grade level teams and departments.
- Participate in development of Student Service 504 plans IEPs and GIEPs as needed.
- Provide counseling as a related service for special education students identified as needing such support.
- Support implementation of the Career Pathway framework and Personal Learning Plans.
- Leadership role in planning organizing and implementing college and career readiness activities.
- Participate in building level and district level data teams.
- Organize and implement the building level testing program for standardized assessments and postsecondary admissions testing.
- Assist students and families with postsecondary planning and decision making to include admissions scholarship and financial aid opportunities.
- With administration develop and implement master schedule.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or their designee.

- Visual acuity to read correspondence and computer screen.
