Assistant Professorsare eligible for multiyear appointments that align with a 12month service period (July 1June 30. Faculty with 12month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12month period (JulyJune) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
Associate Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12month service period (July 1June 30. Faculty with 12month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12month period (JulyJune) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
Responsibilities will include patient care (inpatient consultations primary inpatient service outpatient biochemical genetics clinics at the various Seattle Childrens Hospital sites and the University of Washington and regional clinics in Washington) and teaching of medical students and residents. Opportunities will be available for clinical research and collaboration with physician/scientists in the Seattle Childrens Research Institute and basic scientists in the Departments of Pediatrics and Genome Sciences at the University of Washington. Clinical biochemical genetic services are currently provided by five biochemical geneticists three genetic counselors three nurses three dietitians and one social worker.
Anticipated start date is July 2025.
All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching research and service.
The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professors $16667 $19584 per month $200004 $235008 annually) Associate Professors $17500 $20417 per month $210000 $245004 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Childrens University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Childrens University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Childrens University Medical Group practice plan.
Applicants must have an MD orDO or MD/DO combined (or foreign equivalent). Be boardcertified or boardeligible in Clinical Genetics (MD or DO required) and be either boardcertified or boardeligible in Clinical or Medical Biochemical Genetics and must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington.Positive factors for consideration include but are not limited to board certification in Pediatrics or Internal Medicine.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H1B visa graduates of a foreign (nonU.S. medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
