Position Summary

The Team Lead is a Salaried NonExempt position which contributes to our mission of saving and sustaining lives by managing and coordinating employees and processes in their assigned value stream in the production of IV therapies premixed renal therapies and other sterile solutions.

Essential Job Duties

  • Promote a safe work environment!
  • Delegate direct coordinate and schedule activities of assigned employees. Act as a process expert to their assigned area. Train and mentor other employees
  • May participate in Continuous Improvement Project and Safety Teams Lean Initiatives Value Stream led activities and defect prevention programs
  • Review batch documentation and records assigning PMs (Preventative Maintenance tasks) and updating electronic records in various software applications.
  • Perform scheduled quality checks disposition product identify any deviations that may occur and take the appropriate action to include stopping production on the machine if necessary.
  • Lead and participate in tier meetings which include a review of safety quality and production goals
  • Organize and coordinate general cleaning through assigned area per GMP.
  • Participate or lead troubleshooting activities with Quality and Maintenance personnel to determine the true root cause of nonconforming processes
  • Communicate with outgoing shift personnel to obtain information regarding any problems with machines materials etc. encountered during the previous shift. Perform and document scheduled cleaning activities
  • May fill in for Material Handlers or Production Technicians as needed
  • Investigate identify and correct or call out any inefficiency in value stream performance
  • Take appropriate action if any safety quality mechanical or discrepancy issues occur. Learn understand and apply thorough quality standards Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles

Work Environment

  • In either a Class III Controlled Environment which includes the following dress/gowning requirements: safety glasses ear plugs hairnet and beard cover or a Class I Controlled Environment which includes the following dress/gowning requirements: safety glasses ear plugs jumpsuit hood hairnet beard cover gloves mask and boots (additional PPE required when cleaning)
  • Constant or intermittent exposure to elevated levels of noise and vibration. Involves working around moving equipment machinery and conveyors. Requires occasionally working with chemical cleaners and disinfectants

What Youll Bring

  • High School Diploma GED or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Minimum 6 months of manufacturing experience and demonstrated leadership skills
  • Must have basic English written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members.
  • Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions including words and drawings.
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematics
  • Possess or be able to obtain PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle) Operator Certification
  • Possess or be able to obtain Inspector Certification

Preferred Experience

  • Six months experience as a Sr. Material Handler Production Technician or equivalent
  • CRC (Career Readiness Certification) at the Silver level
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook and the ability to learn/use enterprise software (i.e. POMS and Maximo)

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees and we strive to be more clear with our pay practices. To that end this position has a pay rate of $54600.00 a year.
