Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) is seeking a Principal Staff Penetration Tester to provide expertlevel cybersecurity support for the CSESS contract in Virginia Beach. This senior handson role involves leading complex penetration testing and vulnerability assessment initiatives to identify and remediate weaknesses across critical systems networks and applications. In this key technical role youll simulate sophisticated cyber threats and collaborate with IT and security stakeholders to shape and implement strategic defense measures. The ideal candidate brings deep technical mastery strategic insight and polished communication skills to proactively defend against evolving threats and drive innovation in a missionfocused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead coordinate and execute advanced penetration testing engagements simulating sophisticated cyberattacks to uncover vulnerabilities across systems networks and applications.
Conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments using a combination of manual techniques automated tools and threat intelligence databases to identify potential exploitation paths.
Develop and deliver detailed reports outlining findings risk levels business impact and clear actionable recommendations for mitigation and remediation.
Collaborate closely with IT and cybersecurity stakeholders to communicate technical findings support remediation planning and drive continuous security improvements.
Stay current on emerging threats adversarial tactics and security technologies to adapt testing methodologies and proactively defend against evolving attack vectors.
Leverage a wide range of penetration testing tools and exploit frameworks as well as manual techniques to provide realistic assessments of system resilience.
Apply expertlevel analytical and problemsolving skills to deconstruct complex systems and develop innovative strategies to enhance cybersecurity posture.
Mentor junior team members fostering technical growth encouraging knowledge sharing and ensuring high standards in testing practices and deliverables.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or higher in Cybersecurity Computer Science Information Systems or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of directly relevant experience in cybersecurity or penetration testing.
Proven expertise in the system security design process and a strong grasp of cybersecurity principles including defenseindepth strategies authentication access control risk management contingency planning incident handling and auditing.
Handson experience with penetration testing tools exploitation frameworks and security mechanisms as well as familiarity with modern communication protocols encryption techniques and both hardware/software security implementations.
Demonstrated proficiency in conducting penetration tests on both Linux and Windows systems with the ability to emulate realistic threat scenarios.
Experience performing indepth security evaluations of software systems and architectures to ensure compliance with security requirements for classified environments.
Skilled in the preparation and maintenance of System Security Plans (SSPs) and related security documentation.
Proven ability to propose implement and enforce security policies procedures and methodologies aligned with government and industry standards.
Experience supporting or collaborating with Information System Security Managers (ISSMs) in the of security programs and initiatives.
Demonstrated capability to manage the daily security posture and testing of complex information systems.
A strong commitment to cybersecurity best practices continuous learning and operational excellence in a missiondriven environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in Cybersecurity Computer Science Computer Information Systems or a related technical discipline.
Experience conducting penetration testing on mobile platforms cloudbased environments and software applications.
Proficiency in shell scripting languages such as PowerShell Python and Bash to support custom tool development and automation.
Demonstrated skills in test automation and the development of custom testing frameworks or scripts to streamline assessment processes.
Possession of industryrecognized certifications such as Security or CISSP with a strong commitment to maintaining current cybersecurity credentials and knowledge.
