Hotel Maintenance Technician (PartTime 20 Hours/Week)
Location: Winnedumah Hotel in Independence California
Reports To: General Manager or Property Operations Manager
Position Summary:
The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure the property is kept in excellent working condition. This parttime position focuses on critical systems such as HVAC furniture cable/WiFi and hightouch areas to support a safe comfortable and functional environment for guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Responsibilities:
- Conduct walkthrough inspections of guestfacing and backofhouse areas.
- Check and log temperature and performance of HVAC units.
- Ensure all public WiFi access points are online and functioning.
- Inspect cable and TV services in common areas and a sample of guest rooms.
- Tighten clean and check guest room furniture for damage or safety issues.
- Wipe down and sanitize hightouch maintenancerelated surfaces (e.g. thermostats door handles remotes in vacant rooms if applicable).
- Respond promptly to maintenance work orders and basic guest room repairs.
Weekly Responsibilities:
- Perform deeper HVAC filter inspections and clean or replace as necessary.
- Test and log all cable/WiFi routers and modems; escalate connectivity issues as needed.
- Inspect and maintain lobby hallway and common area furniture for wear and tear.
- Review and address wear on doors locks and frequently touched surfaces in hightraffic zones.
- Perform basic plumbing checks in guest and public restrooms (leaks clogs etc..
- Report recurring issues to management and recommend vendor service if beyond scope.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in hotel or facility maintenance preferred.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC systems cable/WiFi troubleshooting and minor repairs.
- Able to use small tools and maintenance equipment safely.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
- Ability to work independently and within a flexible schedule.
Work Schedule:
- 20 hours per week; schedule to be coordinated with management.
- May include early mornings evenings or weekends depending on operational needs.
