What we want
International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) is seeking a Program Coordinator II Technology to manage immigrationrelated software and technology projects for our office and clientele. This role supports our international population by ensuring compliance with immigration regulations maintaining software and processing immigration requests. We need an experienced professional who can provide accurate and timely customer service demonstrate teamwork and respect and communicate complex information effectively. What you need to know
Salary: $50000 $53000 (Compensation will be commensurate to the selected hires experience)
Cover Letter/Resume: A cover letter and resume are strongly recommended
Position Details: Must be willing to work some evenings weekends and holidays. May occasionally travel for professional development or training.
Other Requirements: Required to handle protected health information (PHI) as defined by HIPAA regulations in accordance with Texas A&M System policy. Required to complete HIPAA training as a condition of employment within a reasonable timeframe after the individuals hire date and on an asneeded basis thereafter.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Four years of immigration services technology services or related experience including experience with SEVIS and experience with immigration case management software (Terra Dotta Sunapsis ISSM etc.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
At least one year of experience as a PDSO/DSO/RO/ARO
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with website development maintenance and/or website content design
Experience with Homebase
Technical writing and experience creating and/or maintaining userfacing documentation
Skilled in creating manipulating and reporting information between computer programs and working with data
Knowledge of TAMU policies and procedures
Member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Familiarity with immigration laws pertaining to F1 students and/or J1 exchange visitors and managing of SEVIS records
Ability to comprehend and communicate technical information effectively and diplomatically as well as critical thinking
Must be comfortable being the first to trial new software/products and then teaching others how to use them
Responsibilities
Program Technology Tasks & Projects:
Acts as a superuser for the programs request portal and other internal software with indepth knowledge of front facing interface and backend interface
Troubleshoots and fixes issues implements updates and assists with other maintenance for International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) website and software
Regularly attends Tech Team meetings and other necessary project meetings
Creates new website pages or other software content
Assists Tech Team with developing and implementing strategies for managing projects such as software transitions
Coordination Customer Service & Communication:
Collaborates with partners in ISSS Global Engagement TAMU IT thirdparty vendors and other stakeholders as needed for completing projects and tasks
Provides technical support as needed for stakeholders when they encounter issues with the ISSS website request portal or other software
Assists with urgent cases and emergencies
Exercises independent judgement to resolve conflicts
Provides excellent customer service
Occasionally represents ISSS in some capacity such as giving presentations helping with Q&A during events serving as office liaison to other units representing the office on committees or traveling to meetings conferences or campus visits
Program Policies & Procedures:
Helps with creation and maintenance of internal resources and knowledgebases for office software and devices
Collaborates with office leadership to maintain communicate changes and provide training on internal office technology policies and procedures
Regularly researches and references internal and external policies and procedures related to immigration accessibility software knowledgebases and other resources when planning and implementing technological tasks
Training & Professional Development:
Learns and maintains the necessary software knowledge for superusers
Learns maintains knowledge and keeps abreast of applicable Federal State University TAMU System and ISSS regulations policies and procedures
Regularly researches and references the regulations policies and procedures mentioned above when completing technology tasks and projects processing documents and/or advising stakeholders and may train others on how to utilize these resources
Document Processing & Reporting:
Learns and maintains basic knowledge of processing immigration documents and requests for international students and scholars for purposes of creating reviewing and updating content for website or other applicable platforms
Serves as Designated School Official (DSO) with U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) with U.S. Department of State
Maintains international student records handles confidential (FERPA and HIPAAprotected) information and navigates intricate immigration matters with multiple deadlines involved
Produces accurate and efficient document processing within office processing timelines and in compliance with regulations
