Performs a variety of clerical and technical tasks associated with the pre and postanalytic phases of the laboratory work flow.Job Description:
EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
Other: Posthigh school course work related to the medical field (e.g. medical terminology basic anatomy physiology etc. is preferred.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
CA Licensed Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) I or II
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
Experience in one or more of the following: phlebotomy specimen processing or clerical (lab preferred).
Proficiency in laboratory and/or hospital information systems is highly desirable.
Patient contact in a hospital setting is preferred.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory operations is required.
General knowledge of blood borne pathogens and lab safety is preferred.
Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a complex fastpaced environment and take appropriate actions in emergent situations.
Must be able to work within established time frames with attention to detail and accuracy.

Pay Range is $28.00 to $34.08 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidates experience education skills licensure and certifications department equity training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
