- 8hour day shifts no weekends no major holidays
Job Description:
Assist patients authorized representative power of attorney guardian and/or spouse with access to financial assistance resources in accordance with regulatory compliance. Maintains patient confidentiality and ensures financial health. Determine eligibility for state federal and hospital programs and provides assistance including gathering financial documentation and advocating on behalf of the patient.
Principle Responsibilities
- Applying for Financial Programs
- Reviews hospital staff referrals and confirm patients discharge needs with the social worker financial counselor care coordinator and other appropriate hospital staff
- Visits patients bedside in hospital room to educate patient on programs they are eligible for complete appropriate paperwork and serve as a liaison between the patient hospital staff state federal and facility assistance departments
- Collaborates with and verify legal appointment of authorized representative power of attorney spouse and/or guardian to obtain additional information for incapacitated patients
- Maintains all documentation and accuracy of patient records
- Administrative Duties
- Submits process change requests to ensure companywide growth and development
- Assists with new MedEligible staff training
- Assists with the education of new Allina employees from other departments
- Deescalates basic situations including customer needs
- Special projects as directed by leadership
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description
- 2 years of customer service call center medical insurance or collections experience
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Associates or Vocational degree
- 1 years of health care accounts receivable experience
- 1 years of experience working with patient advocacy
Licenses/Certifications
- Valid Drivers License required upon hire MN and WI residents must obtain a valid drivers license in their state of residence within 60 days of employment
- Certified Application Counselor (CAC) in the state of Minnesota required within 90 Days
- Certified Notary Public in the state of Minnesota preferred within 90 Days

Pay Range
Pay Range: $25.50 to $34.94 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including but not limited to your experience education and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.Benefit Summary
